WRITING FOR THE WEB E-COURSE SCHOLARSHIP

Hey, Writer Mamas…are you considering taking the last (at least for now) Writing for the Web e-course which starts on October 7^th? If you’re concerned about trying to afford the course fee you can apply for the Writing for the Web Scholarship. Here are the details:

·         Applications will be accepted from Tuesday, September 8, 2009 through Sunday, September 13, 2009 (11 PM Eastern time).

·         The winner will be announced Friday, September 18^th.

·         One scholarship will be awarded for the course starting October 7, 2009. This is a full scholarship. This is the last course for the year and therefore if the class must be cancelled by the instructor, the scholarship will be as well.

·         The recipient commits to participating fully in the course and delivering all six assignments on time. Please do not apply if you cannot make this commitment.

·         If you fail to complete the course for any reason the scholarship will be forfeited.

·         The scholarship is offered by instructor Jennifer Applin. No additional professional time or coaching is offered with the scholarship.

·         The information contained in your application is considered private and will not be shared or sold. No one else will view your application.

The application questions are below. Please do the following:

·         Write you application in a Microsoft Word document (this program is necessary for all course materials as well).

·         Limit your application to one page (12-point font, single spaced).

·         Please answer the questions fully.

·         After you’ve completed you application cut and paste it into an email (no attachments please).

·         Send the email to jennifer@jenniferapplin.com with “WFTW Scholarship Application” in the subject line.

·         You will receive a confirmation that your application was received.

·         Applications are accepted from U.S. residents only at this time. Thanks for understanding.

The scholarship recipient will be chosen by Jennifer Applin based on the following criteria:

·         Demonstrated effort to work as a freelance writer

·         Financial need

·         Enthusiasm for this course and future writing aspirations

The most important element is demonstrated past effort, so please do not skimp on details of your past writing efforts.
